A homely self-catering cottage set in the heart of the lovely Northumberland town of Rothbury
Wellstrand House is a stone built cottage in the heart of the beautiful town of Rothbury. It is available year round for weekends and weekly lets. The cottage is simply and comfortably furnished. It sleeps 4 to 6 people in two upstairs bedrooms (one double and one twin/double) with a double sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom is upstairs. The family kitchen is fully equipped including a washing machine and a good-sized dining table. The living room is warm and cosy and has a TV, video and DVD player. The kitchen leads to a small pleasant courtyard garden. Parking is ‘on street’ and if you have bikes they can be washed, fixed and securely stored in the owners’ adjoining property.
Rothbury is a lovely little town with a wide selection of shops catering for the needs of both the local community and visitors. There are good food shops selling local produce, tea shops and four pubs serving home cooked food if you prefer to eat out. Rothbury has a 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, a mini soccer pitch and a children’s park. The countryside is on your doorstep to explore on foot or by bike. The larger towns of Alnwick (with its Castle and Garden) and Morpeth are a short drive or bus ride away. There are interesting National Trust and English Heritage properties nearby: Cragside, Brinkburn Priory, Wallington.
There is lots more to see in the rest of Northumberland, including Hadrian’s Wall, Holy Island and the Cheviot Hills. Newcastle is only 45 minutes away by car and has loads of things to see and do, not least the new Sage Music Centre and the Baltic Art Gallery.
Prices from £265-430 a week, this includes;

Payment, cash or cheque, 20% deposit to secure a booking, the balance payable two weeks before arrival.
